Makeup by 1D Limited Edition Tins
Hi everyone! I hope you all had a great Thanksgiving! As promised, part two of my Makeup by 1D limited edition kits. These were created for and inspired by the fans of the world's biggest band. I've spent the past couple of days (while I've been off work for the holidays, listening to their new album Four and it's unironically really good. I think that Night Changes is my favorite. If you're looking for some holiday gifts for the 1D fan in your life, have I got some news for you.
There are 5 limited-edition tins, one for each band member! The products inside the case are identical, so you're really just choosing the packaging.
These really do have it all. 6 eyeshadows, an eye pencil, 4 lip glosses, a lip gloss top coat, and two nail polishes.
In terms of quality, some things are definitely better than others. The eyeshadows are a dupe for the Wet n' Wild quads. No surprise since Markwins makes both, but the three lighter shades (Nobody Compares, Tell Me A Lie, and Same Mistakes) are much creamier and go on smoother than the three darker shades (I Would, Summer Love, and Everything About You).
The darker trio are a little on the chalkier side, but this can be fixed by applying them wet and packing them on with a dense shader brush.
The eye pencil is the shade I Want, and it's a standard matte black. I find that it fades off after about four hours, but doesn't give me panda eyes, so that's good.
The lip glosses (Loved You First, One Thing, Irresistible and Heart Attack) are all in the pan, so you'll need a brush. The tin came with one, but you might want to invest in something a little sturdier for application. I was pleasantly surprised by these. All four colors are wearable and stay on wonderfully. The two darker colors require makeup remover to take off, and the two lighter colors add some nice shine to a lipstick.
Also included is a lip gloss top coat. This is essentially just a clear lip gloss. It's quite shiny if you're looking to really amp up a matte lipstick or pencil into something sparkly. The shade is called Over Again.
The last items are the nail varnishes. A wonderful magenta pink called Stole My Heart and a multi-colored glitter topcoat called Alive. The wear on these is average, but the color is really nice. Girly and festive. So much fun.
I like that the packaging is metal and definitely sturdy. It's a little bulky for my taste, so I'll be depotting the eyeshadows, but it will be great for some storage.
These new sets are available now at Sears USA, Kmart, Target, and Walmart Canada.
Samples sent for consideration.
