Biscuit
I
hope all of my American readers had a fantastic Thanksgiving. I
realized today that I hadn't made introductions of the newest member
of the Everyday family. If you're following me on twitter or
instagram, it won't be much of a surprise, but I have a puppy.
I decided that getting a boxer was a good idea. They have shorter thin hair so it's easier to manage shedding and they're great family dogs.
Meet
Biscuit. I keep trying to film an introduction video with her, but
she's still in the bite-y stage and won't sit still for long enough
to wrangle. Maybe when she's a little older. We start obedience
school in the next couple of weeks and then she'll be a little bit
better.
She's
white, obviously, and that's not a favorable thing. They aren't able
to be show dogs, can't be bred ever, and are born blind or deaf with
a much higher frequency than usual. I got Biscuit from a breeder that
does exclusively show dogs so she was completely useless to them and
they were really just looking to offload her. But that's okay because
we love her.
If
you're looking for more updates on little Biscuit, she's taken over
my Instagram lately and you can see her there.

I
had been considering getting a puppy for a long time. We always had
dogs growing up and now that my life has calmed down a little bit it
just seemed like a good time. When I started looking, I knew that I
wanted a larger dog, but also nothing too hairy. My sister and her
little kid both have bad allergies, so I wanted to be considerate of
that.

So
far, everyone loves Biscuit. She's got my dad just wrapped around her
paw. She has these cute little black polka dots on her ears and two
different colored eyes. She's also growing like a champ. She's going
to be huge soon. Right now her favorite toys are a plastic coat
hanger and a pair of tights that had a run in them. She's big on
chewing and biting, but we're working on it. She also prefers to
sleep on people other than alone, so she's been camping out in my bed
most nights. She's just a little sweetie.
