Busy as Hell
Hi there!
I thought it was about time for a life update, talking about
what I’m up to (because it’s obviously not blogging, let’s be honest).
For those of you who aren’t aware, I graduate in less than
seven months. I wasn’t ready for the frankly astonishingly amount of work that
it takes in this final sprint across the stage. This year, I took a bunch of
writing courses, which is not my usual all science all the time schedule, and
the shift has been great, but difficult. You can read more about my courses
this year here, and although it sounds like I have such a screw-off semester, I
am putting in a lot of hours into my education.
All of this has been compounded by the main issue that comes
with graduation: what comes next. For me, what comes next is probably moving
far away to go to grad school. This requires the GRE which is a viciously long
exam that is part of the application to most masters degree programs. It doesn’t
look to be too difficult, although my mom is trying to convince me otherwise,
but it still is taking a lot of my time in studying. Studying that I have to
work into my already cramped schedule.
As well, because I probably am not going to be around this
place much longer (this place being Halifax) I have been trying not to refuse
my friends. If they want to hang out, I am definitely free, because in six
months, we won’t be able to see each other for a long time. This is something that I neglected
to do in high school and that I feel kind of bad about now. Still, it’s one more
thing to jam in.
So that’s where I’m at when I’m not here. I took a blog
hiatus for similar reasons in the past, and it’s happening again. After the GRE (November 21st) I’ll be
around tons more, and my classes for 2013 end in exactly a month, so that’s
something to look forward to, I guess. Hopefully I’ll see you all after that.
If you really want some more Caitlin, you can find me at all
of the usual places, when I’m particularly busy, I’m on twitter especially.
Best wishes.
