Boxycharm Unboxing | February 2016
Happy Monday!
This week has been
crazy for me. I’ve started a new job, along with finishing the last semester of
grad school, and it’s been leaving me feeling ragged. I think we all have those
kind of weeks. This month’s Boxycharm thing is perfect for that! It’s all about
taking some time for yourself for some pampering. At this kind of year where it’s
gray and windy and rainy, I think that’s something we can all get behind.
Watch me unbox and
review this month’s box:
In this box:
Spongelle You Have My Heart on a String -- $15
A heart shaped body wash infused buffer
enriched with hydrating olive oil and a blend of energizing and toning
extracts. Use the soft side to cleanse and tone the skin, and use the textured
side in a gentle circular motion to exfoliate and stimulate circulation.
I love the way that
the red spongy side feels, but the exfoliating side is too much! Approach with
caution if you have sensitive or easily irritated skin. Keeping it on the
string is super convenient to help it dry in between uses. I don’t think this
will last forever, but I’ve used it three times and it’s still extra sudsy!
Beauty For Real Blush + Glow Stick -- $24
A 2-in-1 blush and highlighter created to not
only color and highlight, but also to provide anti-aging benefits. This
cream-to-powder long wear formula delivers light reflecting benefits and glowing
radiance, which ensures a smooth, beautiful, flawless finish Can be applied
with fingertips, worn alone or over foundation to highlight, sculpt and warm
your eyes, cheeks, lips and body.
This is probably
better for a skin tone that’s a shade deeper than mine. I love the way that
these feel and they’re very blendable and easy to wear. The one downside to
this is that you’re not getting a lot of product. I don’t mind that in something
that came in a box, but I’d be hesitant about buying it on my own.
Shray Ms. Amazing Facial Mask -- $12
An ultra hydrating mask to quench, thirsty,
ragged and dull skin. This moisturizing mask is gentle enough for everyday use
yet tough enough for your supercharged life. Test a small amount on a small
patch of skin prior to full application: everyone’s skin is different. Clean
skin. Apply mask for 10-15 minutes. Remove. No need to wash your face! The hydrant
will set as a lotion and perfect make-up primer.
I am in
love with this. The packaging is adorable and
it’s the easiest sheet mask to apply. It does everything it claims to. Putting
it on is a breeze, and it made me skin feel fresh and moisturized even two days
later. This is a real winner!
Ofra Banana Powder Godet -- $12
This innovative new product can be used as an
all-in-one face powder. Use to conceal dark curcles underneath the eyes, as a
setting or finishing powder, or even as a light matte eye shadow.
To be honest, with
powders, the only difference between good and bad (for me) is whether or not
they’re finely milled or not. This one is very fine, and doesn’t sit in any
lines on my face. It also does a great job of brightening up and setting my
undereyes. Ofra has always been great for me, and this is no exception.
Freeze 24-7 Anti-Aging Eye Serum -- $58
Say goodbye to fine lines, wrinkles, dark
circles and puffiness with this ground breaking, lightweight eye serum. Apply a
pea size amount under and around the eye area. Allow 2-3 minutes for product to
absorb before adding moisturizer or makeup.
I have an eye cream
that I really love, so this one is unfortunately not getting much attention. I
like the way it feels, going on light, smooth, and without a gross scent.
Everyone seems to hand out eye cream, and I just can’t o through it fast enough
to get to them all.
Realtree for Her - $12.99
A delightful fragrance with the sweet scent of
pomegranate, a hint of persimmon, and an exotic scent of orchids. Spray and
enjoy.
Perfume is hard. It’s
so personal. I luckily really like this one, it’s lightly floral and I
appreciate the size of the sample. I have a hard time choosing perfumes to
bring on longer trips, and this one will be coming along on my next vacation.
Overall, I think it’s
easy to see why I love this box. Every month is different, and every month is
amazing. If you’re interested in getting your own, you can do so here: (my affiliate link) or at boxycharm.com (not an affiliate link).
