February Favorites
Welcome to March! That means that
spring is actually coming, right? This month I tried out a lot of new
things, and some of them have made their way into my favorites.
Sonia Kashuk Pink Innocencia Hand Creme
I'm still having some major dry skin
issues and this is the best at
fixing that. Slap this on, and it's like it's a beautiful summer day,
not the dead of winter. Like all the Sonia Kashuk lotions, this has
an intense amount of smell to it, so I hope that's something you're
into.
e.l.f. Lip Exfoliator
Again with the dry. This beats out the
lipscrubs from Lush for me because it's so easy to use in its stick
form. And you can't beat that price.
Benefit Stay Flawless 15-Hour Primer
The past few weeks I've been having a
lot of from-the-office-to-the-party nights, and this has kept my
foundation looking flawless so I can make it through work, class, and
a date, all in the same day.
Benefit High Beam
This month I have been all about the
fresh, dewy look. A liberal application of this on the high points of
your face gives you a marvelous natural glow.
Again with the glowy look! I'm not a
big drugstore foundation user, but this one has been slowly taking
over as my go-to. It's a medium coverage, so you can still see your
skin underneath, but makes everything look flawless and bright. It
also comes in different undertones, so it's easy to find one that
fits you without it being too yellow or orange.
Bamboo Kendi Oil Dry Oil Mist
I've had a couple of
higher-profile-than-normal events and I've wanted to have jazzy hair.
This adds a wonderful shine to hair, especially if its
freshly-washed. I have this little travel size which also works great
in an overnight bag or to take to the office or a touchup right
before an event.
Starlooks Gem Pencil in Ultra Olive
I've been favoring eyeliner colors that
are not black this month, and this one has been standing out. It's
wonderfully long-wearing and has a gorgeous shine. Do recommend.
Vasanti Kajal Extreme Rose Gold
Eyeliner
Another not-black eyeliner, this one is
beautiful on the water line to brighten up the eyes or the inner
corner. Fantastic pinky glow.
Bite Beauty Luminous Creme Lipstick in
Fig/Date
This last item was one of those
register impulse purchases the last time I was at Sephora. It's a
double ended teeny tiny lipstick. One side is this amazing rose, and
the other is a spectacular nude-brown. I am loving them both, but Fig
(the rose side) is my favorite. It's so quick to throw in my bag and
touch up my lipstick on the go. If you're at Sephora, check it out.
It also comes in a brighter (like orangey and pinky) if that's more
your speed.
Fashion Favorites
Earrings
I haven't worn earrings very much in
the past. My ears are pierced, but I'm always forgotten to put them
in. This month I've really gotten into wearing them and have been
remembering to swap them out all the time. Here are four pairs I've
been wearing a lot. The studs are from World Market, and the other
two more statement pairs are from a local boutique named Francesca's.
The clerk helped me pick them out and is a fan of the blog, so thanks
Emma if you're reading this!
Old Navy Jeggings
I'm not a leggings person. I don't
think that they're pants and I think that a lot of the time they look
a little bit less classy than I would like to look. I was out and
about and tried these on though and love them. They're thicker than
normal leggings but they fit like regular leggings. They also make me
look really thin. They're also affordable. Good job Old Navy, maybe
I'll shop at you again someday.
Bib Necklace
I've gotten a million compliments about
my bib necklace from Target. If you're looking for great statement
necklaces, I would check out their jewelry section. It's surprisingly
amazing and affordable.
Extra Favorites
House of Cards
I was super late to the boat on this.
My boyfriend was just incredulous when he heard I hadn't watched it.
With the third season premiering this past Friday, I decided it was a
great time to jump on it. I've gotten through a season and a half as
of this post, and it's great. Even if you aren't big into politics,
this is a fantastic show.
Serial
I had been putting off listening to
this, but I finally got around to it. It's a podcast that follows a
real crime that occurred in 1999 in Maryland. It follows the murder
of Hae Min Lee, and the evidence that caused her ex-boyfriend, Anand
Sayed to be convicted. It's incredibly interesting and I had a hard
time not listening to all of it straight through. It's really great,
and if you like CSI or Criminal Minds or shows like that, you will
love this.
