August Beauty Favourites!
This month, the products I used the month were mostly my
tried and true beauty elixirs that I know I like, and that I didn’t need to
second guess. I started to gain a really close relationship with a few products
in particular that I can surely deem my favourites.
Maybelline Baby Lips Peach Kiss
I’m not going to talik about this one too much because I
already did a full review on it, here. This was my go-to lip balm this month. I kept
the tube in my purse, and I was really pleased with how its kept my lips all
summer.
Smith’s Rosebud Salve
I started using this product a few years ago, and then
stopped. I don’t know why. I ran out one day, and just never repurchased it. In
July, when I was out at Sephora, I grabbed it up immediately. It’s one of my
alltime favorite products. The thing with this is that you can use it for
anything. Use it on lips, and on cheeks. Also, use it for a highlighter (I’ve
never gotten more compliments), or to moisturize the areas of your face wwhere
you’re breaking out. One of my favorite uses for this is to dab a little on a
breakout before I put on concealer so it doesn’t get cakey. It has a light but
not overwhelming rose scent. It’s also cheap, coming in at about $7. For so
many uses, I gladly pay that price. This is the kind of product where if I lost
all of my makeup tomorrow, this is what I’d buy first.
Maybelline Great Lash
My second Maybelline product this month! I bounce around a
lot on mascaras. This month, I was used a couple, but this is one that I really
enjoyed. In terms of look, I find that this one provides the most separation of
lashes for a really doll-like look. If you like that sort of look, check it
out! It retails for relatively cheaply, and tends to wear well, even for
contact-lens wearers.
Lush R&B Hair Serum
Confession time! In my spending-ban month, this was the only
thing I bought. My hair was looking a little fried just before I got my
haircut. I use a heat protectant, but it hasn’t been enough. One of my friends
suggested this product, and I went and grabbed it. It’s a little more pricey
($20-ish) but in my opinion has been worth every penny. You only use a tiny
bit, but it works wonders. My hair feels oticeably better, and has even been
more manageable on days when I don’t heat treat it. I use R&B both on dry
and wet hair. Simply amazing. It’s also scented really heavily. I only use a
little dab, but the smell lingers on my hair for days. People have commented on
my perfume at work when I’ve really just been wearing a dab of this. I don’t
mind the scent, but it is something that you should think of before diving in.
Zoya Nailpolish in Wednesday
I had gotten this in the last Glossybox that I got before I
cancelled. I’ve worn it almost all the time this month. It’s long wearing and
dries quickly. It also doesn’t have a strong acetone-y smell like some
nailpolishes. The mint green color is so pleasant for summer, and was the
perfect addition to my look for the month of August.
Those are my beauty favorites this month, but I have some
random-ish favorites coming tomorrow! I hope you all are having a good end to
the summer! What was your favorite thing in August?
