Glossybox | May 2015
When I got home from work a few days ago, this month’s Glossybox was waiting for me! I could not wait to get it open. Glossybox has been by far the best of the subscription boxes I receive, so let’s get to it.
Teeez Trend Cosmetics Head Over Heels Nail Lacquer
in Cadmium Rush
We get a spring in our step from the Dutch beauty brand’s adorable packaged nail lacquer. Promising a super smooth application and glossy texture, it boasts at least three days of staying power.
I don’t think three days of staying power is something to brag about, especially when compared to my cabinet of 7+ day wear polishes. I love the color of this. It comes off as a wonderful burnt orange, appropriate for any season. Unfortunately, the staying power just isn’t there. I was lucky to get two days out of it, with some nails showing chips before the first 24 hours had passed. I’m not impressed, and think that I’ll have to pass on this one.

Doucce Mineral Matt Lipstick
in 907
The New York-based color brand introduces this uniquely textured, soft-touch lipstick, which leaves behind a rich, velvet matte finish. Infused with SPF 10 and vitamin E, the pretty pink shade will keep lips hydrated all day, and won’t feather or fade away.
On a brighter note, this lipstick is excellent. It’s another one-color-suits all product. The consistency of this lipstick is unusual though. It’s much less creamy and firmer than many lipsticks I’ve tried, so it takes a little getting used to. Once it’s on, the dreamy matte texture is there for the day without drying out your lips or smudging. Definite recommend.

Clearista Retexturizing Gel
This unique complexion-perfecting gel not only smooths skin and refines pores, but also reduces pigmentation and skin imperfections, including rough skin bumps and rough, dry patches.
This product caused me a lot of conflict. It does make my skin feel clean and exfoliated. I’ve been having some skin problems lately and this definitely has been making a positive difference in my skin. But those exfoliating beads. They are awful. The exfoliating beads stick to my skin, and have to be wiped off with a towel. Just water won’t get rid of them. It’s so strange. Because of that, I think that I’ll be using this one up, but not purchasing a full-size version.

GlamGlow Powermud DualCleanse Treatment
Powermud’s innovative mud to oil delivery system promises powerful, gentle skin detoxification and renewal. Designed for all skin types, this hypoallergenic, dermatologist-tested treatment feautres a custom four-clay blend alongside purifying cleansers and exfoliants for super clean, super velvety skin.
Oh GlamGlow. Everyone talks about you all the time. This is a newer product from their line. It’s an oil-mud combination cleansing treatment. First you put it on like a mask, leave it on for five or ten minutes. When you rinse it off with some water it turns into an exfoliating oil treatment. As I mentioned, since traveling, my skin has been having a rough time. This has been helping it get some of its moisture and glow back. I’m not sure if I can justify the price tag, but this one is definitely good.

Sebastian Professional Stylbrid 9
From heat protection to adding volume and texture, this new multi-benefit hairspray from Sebastian packs a punch. Paraben and alcohol free, the lightweight styler and treatment hybrid also offers curl definition, UV protection, and enhances natural shine.
I had recently run out of hairspray and hadn’t picked up a new one, so this came at just the right time. This claims to be a heat protectant, as well as providing flexible hold to any type of hair style. This is great. It doesn’t smell too strongly, like a lot of hairsprays. It also has a pretty good hold, adding a lot of shine, while still letting you touch your hair whenever you want. No stiffness or stickiness!

So that’s it for this month! Glossybox retails for $21/month, which includes shipping to the US. Shipping is also really affordable to Canada too though! This month’s box was worth $69.28, so the value is definitely there. I have yet to be disappointed by Glossybox. If you’re interested in getting your own, you can check them out here!
