Blogmas #7: Background Music

Back again for Day 7. I'm impressed at myself for getting a whole week in.

So, let's say you decide to hold a gettogether for the holidays. You want to get your party moving, but it's more of a stand-and-talk thing. People have got their hors deouevres, and things are still a little slow. What are you missing? Festive background music. Here are my favourite Christmas songs for playing while you're doing something during the holiday season. Great for baking, cleaning, wrapping presents, casual drinking, seeing your in-laws, whatever! I also put them together into a youtube playlist, which you can find here, if you don't want to see them individually.

1. White Christmas  - Bing Crosby
Classic, and everyone likes it.

2. Baby It’s Cold Outside
I included two versions that I enjoy. I like it when the couple is somewhat atypical. In the first one, they're both guys (it's from Glee) and it's pretty great. The second one is from She and Him, but Zooey Deschanel is doing the part that the man usually does. It's a nice twist.

3. Christmas (Baby Please Come Home) - Leona Lewis
Kind of sad, but really peppy, so people don't notice how sad it is. I also picked this one from Leona Lewis, who is awesome.

4. The Christmas Song - Nat King Cole
Another classic. Everyone is still happy.

5. I’ll be Home for Christmas - Michael Buble
Who doesn't like a Michael Buble Christmas, even if it's a little morose?

6. It's Beginning to Look a Lot like Christmas - Perry Como
Some more classics. Noticing a pattern, yeah?

7. Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas - Frank Sinatra
He's so soothing.

8. I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus - The Jackson Five
There's nothing more adorable than a 1970s Michael Jackson. This is one of my all-time favourites.

9. Holly Jolly Christmas- Burl Ives
This little gem from the original Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer is everyone's favorite.

10. It's the Most Wonderful Time of the Year - Andy Williams
Because it is.

That should get you started. :)

Todays' advent calendar prize is...

Ultra Plush Lip Gloss in A-Lister.

Holy jeez do I hate this color. It's like a frosty salmon. It is really unpleasant. I don't want it to go to waste, so I'm going to experiment a little with pairing it with another lipstick or pencil or something because I don't like it on its own one bit. Benefit is really letting me down with their lip glosses so far. It also has that strange scent that I cannot put my finger on that the Dandelion lip gloss also had. It lasts about two hours on, and doesn't do much hydrating. Sorry guys, not such a great day.
