August Non-Beauty Favourites!

As a person with varied interests, I don’t like to limit my favourites to just beauty. Beauty is such a small part of my life that I don’t feel right giving it the monopoly on my life. Because of that, I present the rest of my monthly favourites!

Music
Yesterday, I gave myself a bit of a break, and my favourite songs of the month can be viewed on that post here. I really like We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together by Taylor Swift. It’s poppy and fun and Taylor Swift is always fun to listen to. The other song is 50 Ways to Say Goodbye by Train. This song makes me laugh, and is catchy. Simply love them both.

TV/Movies
August is tough for TV because the best shows haven’t started yet. This month, I had two TV shows that I watched really consistently. The first was True Blood. I feel like you could have called that. You can read more about that the post that I did on the season here. The other show that I watched was Greek, which is about sororities and fraternities at a university. It ended more than a year ago, but I had never watched it. It could just be the back-to-school fever, but I jumped right into it. The writing is often cheesy, but it’s oddly addictive.

In movies, my favourite film that I saw was Pixar’s Brave. I love Pixar, but this one was really exceptional. Highly recommended, and not just for the kids.

Foods
This month, I liked making five-minute mug cakes in the microwave. There are a hundred recipes on the internet, or you can get pre-packaged Dr. Oetker mixes. Either way, they’re delicious! Check it out!

YouTube
I started following a few new people on YouTube this month. MY favorite has been Kayley Hyde, who operates the channels owlssayhooot and kayleyscloset. Owlssayhooot is her vlog channel, which is in my opinion her best channel. She’s well-spoken and has an interesting take on the world. Kayleyscloset is her beauty channel, and it’s also very good, and completely worth having a look.

Websites
In August, I got really into college advice blogs. My best discovery by far is collegecandy.com. It has articles ranging across very broad topics, including relationships, style, and health. It’s all written by college students for college students. I’ve read it every day for the past three weeks.

Those are this month’s non-beauty favorites! Do you have a favorite food or show that you’ve ben adoring this month? How about your favorite YouTuber? Let me know!
